Is the Church Demas?: Cultural Christianity

This sermon looks at the culture of Christianity in American and how it has produced cultural Christians at the expense of producing biblical Christians. To understand this shift the generations of the Silents, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millennials are looked at through their statics involving their faith. In the end one can see that there exists a real need for the church to produce authentic biblical Christ followers.

Top-Tray Tools: Helping Others

Using the teaching of Jesus in Matthew chapter six one can find four spiritual disciplines that Jesus assumes a Christ follower is to do. These expectations by Christ should be considered some of the main tools for faith growth or tools one might keep in the top tray of their tool box. The first spiritual tool or discipline is found in Matthew 6:1-4 the spiritual practice of helping others.

The Rest

Following the two examples of the children of Israel not having full faith in entering the promise land; Numbers 13-14; and Hebrews 3:12-13. We now see another example in Isaiah 40:29-31, that to meet our full potential in God; soar on wings as eagles, we will need a full trust in God that expectantly waits for God in the midst of difficult circumstances.
